Composite Doors - A Grand Entrance

In addition to our range of PVCu panel and stable doors, C & L Windows have chosen a range of composite doors for additional security, protection against the weather, endurance and appearance. Discovery composite doors offer a more traditional appearance than the PVCu panel door, with low maintenance weatherproof finishes that more closely resemble the look and feel of traditional timber.

The entrance door is the first thing most people see when arriving at your house. It helps to set the style of your home, greeting visitors yet providing a barrier to the elements. The door says something about you, the occupants, about your character, your personality, about the style in which you live. Architecturally, the entrance door is a key feature in the overall appearance of the house and should be in keeping with the existing aesthetic styling, especially in older properties. It must also give you protection and keep out unwanted visitors or the worst of the weather.

With all of these factors in mind, C & L Windows have chosen the Discovery range of composite doors which provide excellent style, security, insulation and accessibility.

  • Structure – The Discovery doors are manufactured from gel-coated glass reinforced plastics or from high performing thermoplastics, bonded to a laminated frame with a polyurethane foam insulated core.
  • Security – All Discovery door locking mechanisms are multi-point high security systems with hook engagement. All doors have internal steel mesh reinforcement to resist mechanical attack. Discovery doors have been approved to the 'Secured by Design' standard, an initiative of the UK Police.
  • Weather Performance – The unique Discovery triple weather seal with its purpose-designed outer frame gives significantly improved weather resistance over a traditional timber door leaf.
  • Accessibility – The thermally broken low mobility threshold of the Discovery door gives high weather resistance and thermal insulation, and conforms to the new mobility regulations.
  • Appearance – The door face is textured with an authentic woodgrain design, recreating the appearance of timber. The door is available in white, red, green and blue. Two woodgrain finishes, light and dark, complete the range.
  • Glazing – The choice of a wide variety of plain and stained glass designs are formed into 28mm sealed units for high insulation and glazed into the door using a cassette system. This allows easy maintenance and replacement.
